I have been told that there are those of you visiting, that do not know who I am. So to help you get to know me, here is a bit of who I am!
I started in the car business in 1970 and we were concerned about customer satisfaction and retention. One of the missing pieces was having rental cars available while a customer's car was in the shop. I noticed that even when their cars were not being serviced, many customers were still renting cars. That is where I first saw the need for a local car rental company. In December 1985, my wife Linda and I, opened our first rental car operation in Fairport, New York with 5 cars. In two years time we built the fleet up to 135 cars and opened 2 more offices. I was named Operator of the Year in 1989 and appeared on the front page of the business section in USA Today as the franchisee systems fastest growing outlet. In 1992, I became involved with a car rental company in California and with the help of my associates, ran a peak of 450 cars with seven hotel locations.
Today, I am a speaker and trainer for the local rental car market, teaching the new operator and advanced seminars for Auto Rental Resource Center, U.S. Choice, and XPRESS Rent A Car Association as well as my own "Profit Builders Seminars". I am a Lifetime Member of ACTRA/ACTIF, past President and Board Member. In 2005, I spoke at the U-Save/ARRC convention in Las Vegas. I have also done seminars for Xpress Rent A Car Association, Auto rental Resource Center, and my own Profit Builders Seminars. I was honored to be a keynote speaker at the Australian Rental Vehicle Industry Convention held at the Conrad Jupiter Hotel in Queensland. I was equally honored to be asked to speak at the General Assembly for the ACCRO Convention in Niagara On the Lake, Ontario, and my "Profit Builders Seminars around the country.
